Air Quality Advisories have been issued for several parts of Alberta but Alberta Health Services says the Calgary Zone, including Airdrie, isn't one of them just yet.

Precautionary advisories have been issued for the Central Region, the Edmonton Region and Jasper - Hinton and Edson regions due to smoke from B.C. wildfires drifting into the province, however, according to Dr. Jason Cabaj, AHS Medical Officer of Health for the Calgary Zone, there doesn't appear to be any anticipated impact for the next 24 hours here.

AHS will issue air quality advisories if there is an impact, either current or anticipated.  At this time, there are no advisories in place or pending for the Calgary Zone.

Dr. Cabaj says they continue to monitor forecasting and modeling.

The advisories that have been issued for areas of the province are precautionary only.

AHS says air quality varies throughout every day based on a number of factors, including heat and wind, and that this is the case year round, not only when fires are burning.
