AE Bowers will soon receive some much needed replacement modular classrooms.

On October 16, 2016, the Rocky View School Board approved a submission to the Province to relocate thirteen portables to AE Bowers to replace modular classrooms that had outlived their life expectancy.

The school board heard back from the Province on January 17, receiving a letter from Alberta Government Capital Planning approving the move of five portables from Herons Crossing School and eight from Mitford School in Cochrane to AE Bowers.

Superintendent Greg Luterbach said that the move won't take place until after the school board is assured the portables are no longer needed at the current schools, meaning the move won't take place before Fall 2017.

While RVS was happy about the relocation approval, they weren't impressed that another request came up short.

RVS had asked for four new portables for Rainbow Creek Elementary School in Chestermere to accommodate growth in the town and a school that is nearly at capacity, but received approval from the Province for only one new portable.
