323 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Alberta, including one more in the City of Airdrie.

Thanks to an increase in recoveries in Airdrie, which now sit at 142, the number of active cases has decreased to 26. The active case rate in Airdrie is now 37.1 per 100,000 population.

In Rocky View County, there are 36 active cases and 115 recoveries. The County's active case rate has increased to 83 per 100,000 population and a Watch remains in place.

Alberta's new cases are based on 13,003 test results, meaning the positivity rate is 2.5 per cent.

3,203 cases are currently active, another jump over Monday's numbers and the most confirmed active cases that Alberta has seen at one time.

Recoveries have increased to 19,500 and one more death has been reported for a total of 293.

116 Albertans are fighting COVID-19 in hospital, with 16 of those in intensive care. Dr. Deena Hinshaw says that's equivalent to 23 per cent of the 70 ICU beds that have been designated for COVID treatment in Alberta.

Dr. Hinshaw also announced Tuesday that after scaling back a number of weeks ago, the province is now pressing pause on all asymptomatic testing.

Effective immediately, pharmacies will no longer book new appointments for asymptomatic tests. All tests that have already been booked will be honoured until November 4.

Albertans with symptoms will continue to be tested, as will those without symptoms who are close contacts to a confirmed case or who have been linked to an outbreak.
