Beiseker RCMP have charged two men following complaints of drug trafficking in Acme.

On June 14, police served a search warrant at a rental property in the town as part of a drug trafficking investigation. There they discovered a small marijuana grow op. One man was arrested at the property, and a second was arrested at his workplace.

Police seized nine marijuana plants, 15 grams of dried marijuana, approximately 40 grams of suspected cocaine, a .22 caliber hand gun, bear spray, brass knuckles, a machete, a sword and a large collection of knives.

Acme residents Tanner Mcfarlane, 25 years old, and Michael Heon, 20 years old, have been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, production of a controlled substance, and unauthorized possession of both prohibited and restricted weapons.

Both men were released on their own recognizance and are scheduled to appear in Airdrie Provincial court today (June 22).
