Much of Southern and Central Alberta are expecting above seasonal temperatures this week.

According to Dan Kulak, Meteorologist with Environment Canada we should see some nice highs.

"It does look like Airdrie is expecting a week of pretty much warmer than normal conditions, average daytime highs are around plus eight, but this week we could see some temperatures into the high teens."

Kulak also says it's a common misconception that with warm weather comes high-pressure systems.

"Well, interestingly enough a lot of people confuse high-pressure systems and low-pressure systems with warm and cold. There is always a high somewhere and a low somewhere but essentially if it's warm in your area you are probably under a surface low-pressure system and when you tend to get under the cold winter air masses you tend to be under a high-pressure system at the surface."

According to Kulak, we will maintain warm temperatures for Halloween but after that, we may see normal temperatures and there is a chance of some precipitation in the form of snow.
