Airdrie City Council will get plenty of variety when they gather for their regular meeting today (February 19).

On today's agenda is a presentation of Airdrie Community Population Profiles that will be given by Social Research Coordinator Chris Esselmont and Team Leader for Social Planning Clay Aragon.

Council will be provided with the city's Community Profiles which are a series of fact books on the population of Airdrie.  The books will serve as a baseline tool to assist in better understanding the makeup of the Airdrie community and provide information for the decision-making process.

They'll also receive the results of the 2016/2018 Downtown Parking Study.

A Proclamation Request will come from the Airdrie Public Library asking council to proclaim February 24th through March 2nd as Freedom To Read Week in the city.  The week is to promote literacy, tolerance, knowledge, and love of reading to Airdrie residents, and all Canadians.

Coucil will also be asked to give three readings to Bylaw number B-02/2019, a Public Notification Bylaw.  The bylaw would provide alternative methods of public notification of items that are required to be advertised under the Municipal Government Act.  Staff will report back to council with further information which was requested by council at their January 21st meeting.

The meeting is open to the public and gets underway at 3:30 pm in council chambers at Airdrie City Hall.
