Yesterday (August 27) was $10 hair cut day to raise money for the Airdrie Food Bank.

There were lots of mini fundraisers going on at the event with snacks, massages and face painting.

The main attraction, the hair cuts was completely sold out and the Hair Lounge raised $1,500 for the Airdrie Food Bank.

Wendy Bates-Wiebe, the owner of the Hair Lounge says that her and her staff love putting the event on every year.

"It makes the kids feel confident going back to school, and it's for a great cause, for the Food Bank's RJ Hawkey Breakfast Program and Snack Attack Program."

Bates-Wiebe also says that while raising money for a great cause, it also gives parents a little bit of a break on the costs of kids going back to school.
