The 2018 Census Results were presented to City Council last night (July 3rd). 

According to the 2018 census results, the City of Airdrie is continuing to grow. The population of the city has increased 4.88% to 68,091 residents. 

The City saw a massive completion rate of 99.98% for the census with only 5 addresses not being accounted for due to not responding

Since the implementation of the online census survey, the city has seen a consistent increase in online survey submissions and this year was no different,  73.62% of the respondents used the online survey. That number is up from 67.42% in 2017. 

So which part of the city saw the most growth in population? 

The community of Hillcrest saw a 568 person increase for the most community growth within the city.

Kings Heights saw an increase of 371 residents and Bayside grew by 351.

The community of Stone Gate saw a decrease of 36 people. 

The City Of Airdrie will receive a potential $332 dollars per person in grant funding.
