There will be some new faces leading the way for Volunteer Airdrie as they announced the election of three new directors.

The three directors bring years of experience volunteering and serving on different boards in Airdrie and Calgary.

Leon Cygman was elected to the position of Director for Volunteer Airdrie. Cygman currently serves as an Associate Professor at the Bissett School of Business at Mount Royal University and currently sits as a Trustee with the Airdrie Public Library.

Joining Cygman on the board is Jennifer Hooper who was elected as Secretary. Hooper has volunteered for many organizations including the Calgary Food Bank and the Boys and Girls Club and is a member of the Kin Club of Airdrie.

Finally, Dirk Bannister was elected to the director's board as Vice Chair. Bannister has held many board positions in his past, many of them with the Kiwanis Clubs of Canada and International. He was past secretary of the Kiwanis Club of Airdrie and is a current board member for Community Links.

"We are excited to have these three outstanding Airdrie residents join our Volunteer Airdrie team," said Chair of Volunteer Airdrie, Dave Maffitt. "We look forward to working with them to continue our mission in the community of Airdrie and surrounding area of Rocky View County."
