Despite a huge push and rally from their community, the Town of Didsbury won't be named Hockeyville 2017.

The small town just north of Airdrie, didn't make the Top 2 for the annual hockey competition.

Instead the town of Ituna, Saskatchewan will represent the West, while O'Leary, Prince Edward Island will showcase the East.

Despite falling short in the vote, Didsbury will still receive $25,000 for upgrades to the town's Memorial Complex.
