Since starting in late 2017, 100 Airdrie Men Who Give a Damn have donated more than $60,000 to local charities, and that number is about to get higher.

The organization is holding their quarterly get together tonight at Woodside Golf Course, starting at 7 p.m.

Four times a year, 100 Airdrie Men Who Give a Damn gather to donate $100 each, which adds up to $10,000. During each meeting, members will hear from three charities who they have nominated to receive funding. At the end of the meeting, the members vote for their choice.

Charities that 100 Airdrie Men have supported in the past include the Airdire Angel, the Airdrie Health Foundation, Tails to Tell Animal Rescue Shelter, and Project Linus.

Jack Lumley is one of the organizers and says they are happy to support charities that make a huge difference in the community.

Lumley says anyone can join at Woodside Golf Course tonight to either learn more about 100 Airdrie Men or to donate and become a member. More information is also available online at theairdrie100.com.

There is also a women’s chapter called 100 Women Who Care Airdrie, who have raised close to $80,000 as of Septebmer 2018.

The two groups are holding a no cost mixer at Fitzsimmons Brewery on June 22 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. for men and women interested in learning more about what the two organizations do.

UPDATE: Lumley says Tuesday night's event was a great success. At the end of they night, the members voted to donate the $10,000 to Nose Creek Valley Museum to create a Junior Curator position.
