The Airdrie Xtreme Bantam "AAA" Hockey Club will be looking to the future and trying to find the future in a group of eager hockey players at their Spring Camp.

The camp, under the direction of fifth-year coach but first-year Head Coach Reid Hnatowich, gets underway tonight (June 15) and runs through Sunday at Genesis Place.

The players will be put through a practice and skills session tonight.  On Saturday and Sunday, they'll experience game play as well as get the chance to be a part of a dryland session which will highlight the Xtreme's off ice training program.

Hnatowich will be helped at the camp by his assistant coaches as well as three guest coaches.  Nolan Hill just finished his Junior career with the Spruce Grove Saints, capping it off by winning the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) title.  Blake Wells just finished his first year of Junior "A" with the AJHL's Okotoks Oilers while Kyle Gordon is going into his third year with the Oilers and has just been named team captain.

The Xtreme are the defending Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League champions and finished as silver medallists at the Western Canadian Championships.  Hnatowich admits the season ahead will be a transition year after losing a number of graduating players.  A total of seven members of last year's team were selected in the Western Hockey League Bantam draft including two, Craig Armstrong and Keegan Slaney who went in the first round.
