The Airdrie Xtreme didn't let Tuesday's (January 9) road loss to the Red Deer Rebels faze them, delivering a 5-1 thrashing to the Calgary Northstar Sabres last night in their second appearance this week.

After a scoreless first period, Tristan Zandee opened up the scoring early in the second with help from Brett Moravec. Calgary responded with a goal of their own, but Ty Mueller reclaimed the lead and scored the game winning goal with just over four minutes left in the period.

The Xtreme continued to score in the third period, getting the whole team involved. Beside Zandee and Mueller, Moravec, Josh Davies and Ethan Tinezez also netted goals in the win, with an additional six players contributing assists. At the other end of the ice, Keagan Slaney's defensive effort was strong enough to earn him First Star of the game.

The Xtreme will have a few days of rest before their next game on Sunday (January 14) against the Okotoks Oilers at the Ron Ebbesen Arena.
