While the executive of the Airdrie Xtreme hasn't been doing much that's visible in the player department as of late, they sure have been busy with their coaching staff.

The Xtreme made their third coaching announcement in the last two weeks, the second to involve a former player.

Brayden Regier, who played during the 2004 - 2005 season with the Xtreme has been added as an Assistant Coach.  He joins another former player, Marshall Burr in becoming an assistant with the club.

Regier grew up playing minor hockey in Saskatchewan before moving to Airdrie in 2004 and joined the Xtreme that season.  He was drafted by the Brandon Wheat Kings in the 2005 WHL Bantam draft.

Regier was a two-sport athlete and was forced to make a decision on which one he would pursue when he was 16 years of age.  Regier chose baseball over hockey and his path took him down the college route before the hockey bug got the better of him and he returned to the rink to help coach the Airdrie Bantam "AA" Hockey Club in 2014-2015 and 2015-2016.

Regier said he's excited to have the opportunity to give back to the organization that cultivated many positive attributes in him, many of which he hopes to pass along to future members of the Xtreme.
