You can practice 'til you're blue in the face but nothing helps you find out what your team is really made of more than good old-fashioned competition.

After two nights of tryouts this week, the Airdrie Thunder get their first chance to take on someone who they consider the real enemy tonight (September 7) when they host the Three Hills Thrashers in Heritage Junior Hockey League exhibition play starting at 8:00 pm.

The Thunder are in the midst of their evaluation camp which consists of four nights of tryouts and five exhibition games, two of which will be played this weekend.

The second game goes Sunday night when Airdrie meets the Okotoks Bisons in a 7:00 pm encounter.

Both games are slated for the Ron Ebbesen Arena.
