The Airdrie Thunder won their third straight to start the Heritage Junior Hockey League season and none of the games so far have been even close.

Last night (September 28) the Blackfalds Wranglers came into the confines of the Ron Ebbesen Arena to face the Thunder.  Airdrie got goals from seven different players and pounded the Wranglers 7 - 2.

Zachary Dubois scored one of the Thunder goals and added two assists in the win.  Other Airdrie goals came off the sticks of Rylan Plante-Crough, Jacob MacDonald, Tristan Paquette, Brett Campbell, Jason Wenzel and HJHL player of the week Jordan McConnell.

Rookie goaltender Jason Little stopped 19 shots and picked up his second win of the season.

In another game last night, the Mountainview Colts were in High River where the teams had to go to overtime before the Colts pulled off a 2 - 1 win over the Flyers.

Both of those teams are back in action tonight, as the Flyers come to Airdrie to face the Thunder starting at 7:15 pm in the Ron Ebbesen Arena.

The Colts are in Cochrane where the Generals will play their home and season opener in the Cochrane Arena.  Puck drop for that one goes at 7:00 pm.
