The Airdrie Thunder will look to continue their assault on the Heritage Junior Hockey League's record books tonight (November 30) when they square off with the Strathmore Wheatland Kings at 8:00 pm in the Ron Ebbesen Arena.

The 21 and 1 Thunder have controlled the play of just about every game they've been in this season.  The only blemish on their record is a 4 - 2 loss at the hands of the Coaldale Copperheads.

Airdrie players hold down the top seven places in league scoring.  They're led by Jordan McConnell who was named HJHL Player of the Week for the second time this season.  McConnell has 35 goals and 43 assists for 78 points in the 19 games he's played in.  That works out to a remarkable point production of 4.1 per game.

Airdrie is facing the Kings for the first time this season.   Strathmore is in third place in the Southern Division with an 11 - 8 and 1 record.

Tonight's contest is the first of two weekend games for the Thunder.  Tomorrow night they'll travel to Red Deer to take on the Vipers, a team they lead by 15 points in the Northern Division.

Also on tonight's agenda, the Cochrane Generals travel to High River for the first of a home and home weekend series with the Flyers.  The teams meet again tomorrow night in Cochrane at 7:45 pm.
