The Airdrie Techmation Thunder faced the Panoka Stampeders in last nights game and continued their perfect season with a 12-4 victory.

However, despite the score, the Thunder were actually down a goal until late in the second period. That was before Brayden Dunn scored his first goal.

The first goal of what turned out to be a six-goal performance. Six goals. In hockey, one of the most exciting accomplishments is managing to score a hat-trick of three goals in one game. Scoring two tricks in one night is almost unheard of.

After almost single-handedly winning the game with six goals and three assists, one would think Dunn would take credit for the win and rejoice in his own success. However, the Thunder player gave all of the credit to his undefeated teammates.

"The guys were getting the puck to me and things were just going my way tonight. So, a lot of the credit to the teammates," commented Dunn.

"We were using each other and playing as a team even though we got down a goal."

Dunn managed to mount a comeback with three unanswered goals in just under two minutes to take the lead back from the Stampeders.

Jordan McConnel, Brett LeGrandeur, Ryan Plante-Crough, Tristan Paquette, Kirkland Spencer and Caleb Reed all added their on goals to eventually rack up the 12-4 win.

Dunn probably put up such a stellar performance because a special fan was watching from the stands: his mom.

"She was here watching tonight. It's the first game she's been to in a year, so that was for her, I guess."

Mrs. Dunn was unable to watch her son in a year due to a major ankle injury keeping Brayden from playing the game he loves. However, after feeling a little bit better, Dunn decided to test out his ankle in a game. He didn't put up any points in his first game, but in the three games since then he has managed to put up an incredible 21 points.

"I didn't play hockey last year because of the ankle and I wasn't going to play this year. The ankle was feeling a little better, so I thought I might as well give it a shot."

"Its been working pretty well for me so far. Hopefully, it continues."

Thunder coach Derek Stamp said that because of Dunn they were able to get the game turned around quickly.

"The first half of the game was tight," commented Stamp. "We weren't getting the bounces and we made a lot of mental mistakes."

"The whole team elevated but a big part of that was Brayden Dunn. He scored some quick goals and gave us a push-back at the end of the second, and then everyone started rolling."

The Thunder play next tonight when they travel to High River to face the Flyers.
