Last night, the two top teams in the Northern Division of the Heritage Junior Hockey League (HJHL) battled it out on the ice last night with the second place Red Deer Vipers coming away with the hard-fought 4-3 win.

The first place Airdrie Techmation Thunder fell to the Vipers while they were on the road, making it only their second loss of the season. The Thunder played Friday as well, coming away with a close 3-2 win at home.

The Thunder currently have some of the leagues top scorers in Jordan McConnell and Rylan Plante-Crough, but Plante-Crough is currently out on a suspension until December 11th, missing three games for using derogatory slurs.

The Thunder will play again this Friday without Plante-Crough when they welcome the Mountainview Colts at their home Ron Ebbeson Areana in Airdrie.
