A fear of too many players not being able to move because of an over-abundance of turkey, gravy and stuffing has caused Rocky View Schools to reschedule this weekend's football games.

Or, maybe it was because this is a holiday weekend.  Yes, that also could be why they did it!

Whatever the reason, the Rocky View High School Football League games will all take place today (October 4) and all three Airdrie teams are involved.  However, you'll have to travel if you want to see them play.

The George McDougall Mustangs will be looking to bounce back from their first loss of the year last weekend against Cochrane when they're in Springbank this afternoon to face the Phoenix.  Both teams take a 3 and 1 record into today's game which gets underway at 4:30 pm at Springbank's Park for All Seasons.

Starting at 6:00 pm, the W.H. Croxford Cavaliers will play at Utley Field, home of the Chestermere Lakers.  Again, the two teams enter the contest with identical records, at 1 and 3.

The final game of the day goes at Cochrane's Spray Lakes Legacy Field as the Bow Valley Bobcats host the Bert Church Chargers.

Bert Church enters the game at .500 with a 2 and 2 mark while the Bobcats are winless in four starts this season.
