The Airdrie Thunder spread their offense around last night (December 7) getting goals from six different players in a 7 - 2 win over the Mountainview Colts in a game at the Ron Ebbesen Arena in Airdrie.

Tristan Paquette led the way with two goals while newcomer Tyler Petrie, in his first game with the Thunder, had a goal and an assist.

The other Airdrie goals came from the sticks of Cooper Page, Brett Campbell, Brett LeGrandeur and Dane Bennett-Nimijean.  Another new addition to the lineup, former WHLer Barrett Sheen, had a pair of assists.

Leading scorer Jordan McConnell was reunited on a line with his former Calgary Canucks teammate Petrie and chipped in a pair of assists as well.

The win gets Airdrie back on track after suffering just their second loss of the season last weekend at the hands of the Red Deer Vipers.  The Thunder are now 23 and 2 on the year in first place in the Heritage Junior Hockey League's Northern Division.   They have a 13 point lead over Red Deer.

The Colts are now 12 - 8 and 1, third in the North.

Airdrie hits the road for Strathmore tonight and a game against the Wheatland Kings.

In another game last night, the Cochrane Generals travelled to Okotoks to face the Bisons and dropped the game by a 5 - 2 score.
