Earlier this week, Airdrie's Teyana Roberts won a bronze medal in the Individual 63-kilogram Judo competition at the Canada Winter Games in Red Deer.

Yesterday (March 1) she decided to go two places better and made her second medal at the games a golden accomplishment.

Roberts helped the women's judo team for Alberta to a win in the team competition.  Alberta had to get past P.E.I. in the preliminaries before facing Ontario in the semi-final.

With those two wins under their belts, Alberta squared off against the team from B.C. and defeated them to capture their collective gold.

In the men's team competition, Douglas O'Brien from Rocky View County helped Alberta to a bronze medal for his second medal at the games.

Today is the last day of the Canada Winter Games.  At 12:30 pm, Alberta will face off for gold against Quebec in Women's Hockey.  Last night, Sarah Wozniewicz of Cochrane scored in overtime to give Alberta a thrilling 2 - 1 win over B.C. to set up their appearance in the final.
