The new year for the Airdrie Thunder looks an awful lot like the old year.

The Thunder started the post-Christmas portion of the Heritage Junior Hockey League much the same as they ended the pre-Christmas schedule, by scoring lots of goals and coming up with another win.

Last night (January 4) at the Ron Ebbesen Arena, the Thunder got two goals apiece from Jordan McConnell and Barrett Sheen and blasted the Blackfalds Wranglers 10 - 2 for their 28th win of the season against just two losses.

Rylan Plante-Crough, Cooper Page, Tristan Paquette, Brett Campbell, Brayden Dunn and Tyler Petrie also found the back of the net for Airdrie.

Five members of the Thunder will suit up on Sunday when Airdrie hosts the HJHL All-Star Game at the Ron Ebbesen Arena beginning at 1:30 pm.

Elsewhere last night, the Cochrane Generals were home to the Strathmore Wheatland Kings and beat them by a 6 - 4 score.  The Gens improved to 17 - 7 and 2 on the year, good for third in the South Division.

The Mountainview Colts of Didsbury travelled to Okotoks to face the Bisons and went to overtime before Okotoks prevailed 5 - 4.
