The Cochrane Generals need one last gasp to survive in the HJHL Championship.

The team lost to the Red Deer Vipers last night (March 19th) 5-4 in a crucial Game 3.

Cochrane got off to a hot start with a 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Logan Brown, Connor Rendall and Will Gretton.

The Vipers struck right back with 3 straight goals in the second period, and eventually took the lead early in the third.

Cochrane's Austin Keller scored a power play marker to tie the game before Red Deer took the lead for good with a goal from Mark Differenz.

With Red Deer now in control of the series, they can close out the league championship with a win in Game 4 on Thursday in their home arena.

The Generals will need to win Game 4 to force a do or die Game 5 back in Cochrane on March 25th.
