A group of Airdrie swimmers from the Nose Creek Swim Association (NCSA) had an excellent showing at the combined Saskatchewan - Manitoba Provincial Swim Meet in Saskatoon.

According to Assistant Head Coach Alexx Diepp, the club finished in 5th place in the overall standings and the coaching staff was very pleased with the results turned in.  Diepp says some of the results they were expecting while others turned out to be pleasant surprises.

The meet was remarkable for Nathan Wong who won gold medals in each of his individual events.  Wong had to finish in front of two swimmers who had qualified ahead of him in the preliminary races and managed to do that to stand atop the podium.  Wong was recognized by the meet management for his accomplishments and was presented with the aggregate award as the highest point earner in his age category.

Sean Penner also had a strong meet.  He headed into the finals with three top-ranked times in three events, the 50m butterfly, 200m freestyle and the 50m backstroke.  In the finals, Penner won gold in the butterfly and the backstroke and finished second in the 200m freestyle.

Para-swimmer Alex Sharpe turned in silver medal performances in each of his events.

Madaleine Polsfut, Daniel Froese, Montana Dobry, Caitlin Merchant and Hayden Leclerc of NCSA all made the finals in their events.
