Five ladies from the Nose Creek Swim Association had excellent performances at the recent Foothills Masters Swim Club 25th Annual swim meet in Cochrane.

Susan Benoit, Linda Bruce, Astrid Eckstein, Robin Loyola, and Carolynn Martin tested their skills and speed for the first time in 2019 and proved they have what it takes against the competition winning a total of 13 gold, seven silver, and two bronze medals.

Loyola swept all of her events, the 50m backstroke, 50m & 100m breaststroke, 50m butterfly and 100m individual medley for a five gold medal performance in the 45 to 49 age category.

It was a three gold medal performance for Bruce who won the 50m backstroke, and 100 and 200m breaststroke in the 55 to 59 age category.  She also won a pair of silver medals in the 50m breaststroke and 100m individual medley.

Eckstein had a five-medal showing with medals of all colours in the 50 to 54 age category.  She won gold in the 100m breaststroke, silvers for the 100m backstroke and 100m freestyle, and bronze in the 50m backstroke and 100m IM.

For Martin, it was a double gold and double silver showing as she won the 50m backstroke and breaststroke and placed second in the 50m butterfly and freestyle.

And Benoit turned in a two gold medal performance in the 35 to 39 age category for the 100m breaststroke and 200m individual medley.  She also captured silver in the 100m IM.

The five ladies are now busy training for the Provincial Championships that are set for April 6th and 7th in Calgary.
