There was Alberta action in the NHL yesterday, but not any good action.

Both Alberta teams received losses while at home.

The Edmonton Oilers welcomed the top team in the league, the Tampa Bay Lightning, and received a 6-3 loss.

The Calgary Flames faced off against the Saint Louis Blues, a team they visited and defeated 7-2, and were handed a bitter 3-1 loss.

The Calgary Flames are currently ranked first in the Pacific Division and are tied for third overall in the entire league.

Both of the Alberta teams will have a little bit of a break for Christmas before returning Thursday. The Edmonton Oilers will welcome the Vancouver Canucks in Edmonton and the Calgary Flames will travel to Winnipeg to face the number two ranked Jets.
