The Airdrie Thunder are having an unforgettable season in the Heritage Junior Hockey Leauge and a big part of that success has been the play of Jordan McConnell.

Now, the Thunder forward has no less than three league scoring records within his grasp as the Thunder head into their final five games of the regular season.

McConnell has amassed 113 points this season on 45 goals and 68 assists.  He needs just nine points to break the old HJHL record of 121 points set in the 2005 - 06 season by Brad Rossler who also played for Airdrie.  Considering McConnell is on a 3.8 points per game pace this season, that record is well within his grasp.

The other two marks may be a little harder to achieve but are definitely possible.  He needs 12 goals to surpass the old mark of 56 held jointly by Jeff Jaquish for Cochrane/Airdrie during the '95-'96 season and Sean Fryer in 2005-'06 with Okotoks.

McConnell also needs 12 assists to shatter the mark of 79 that was set in the 2004-'05 season by Dallas Hand of Rimbey.

The next opportunity for McConnell to move closer to the marks comes up Friday night when the Thunder play host to the Mountainview Colts at 8:00 pm in the Ron Ebbesen Arena.
