It was a big day for two local products at the 2019 Canada Winter Games.

Overall Tuesday, 13 different Albertans walked away with medals at the games.

Local 18-year-old Spencer Allan was the fastest amongst the group of men Para-Alpine Giant slalom race, winning the gold with a time of 2:00.66.

"The first run was pretty solid, the conditions were pretty nice. The communication between me and my guide worked well. It was super smooth and placed first at the finish line. Leading up to the second run was a bit stressful. Communications went out and had no way of talking other than yelling. We just got right in the start gate and went down, really without any warning."

Today, (February 27th) the slalom events will take place at Nakiska before moving to Red Deer for the ski cross events.

Albertans abroad had a dominant showing during the Judo events with six different people placing medals.

17-year-old Douglas O'Brien of Rockyview County went on to face Felix-Olivier Bertrand of Quebec for the silver medal match and walked away with the win.
