It was a slushy weekend for several Airdrie Soccer teams last weekend...literally.

From March 1st to 4th, hundreds of teams from Alberta and across Canada came to Edmonton for the annual Slush Cup of Indoor Soccer.

Eight teams represented the Airdrie and District Soccer Association and came back with six medals.

The U10 Boys claimed a silver medal after winning 6-4 against Fort McMurray but dropping their last game 6-5 against the Calgary Athletics.

It was a silver performance as well for the U10 Girls Aztecs after wins against the West Raiders and the GP United.

The U12 Boys won two of their three games including a final 4-2 victory over the Blizzard Alliance to win Bronze while the U14 Boys Aztecs also claimed bronze after scoring 11 goals in the three-game tournament.

Two Airdrie U12 Boys Aztecs teams claimed silver with 2006 team beating Sherwood Park and the Xtreme FC, while the 2007 team won against Lewis Estates and TRSA to finish second in their pool.

The U11 Boys and U14 Girls Aztecs had strong tournaments and finished fourth in their groups.
