The Airdrie Arm Wrestling Club travelled to Lethbridge on September 8th to compete in a tournament.

The local team had a dominating performance placing seven times.

Starting off for the team was Bella Weber against a puller from Saskatchewan and was able to walk away with second place in both the right arm and left arm class.

Glenn Weber was able to secure a 3rd place win in the 201-225 pound division.

Dale Kotyk decided to test himself and pull in three different weight classes, taking 1st place in the men's amateur right arm 176-200 lbs. 1st place in the master's men and 2nd place in the master men's over 200lbs.

Next up for the team was Stacey Foster who also decided to test her strength by jumping into the master men's class 0-150lbs and walked away with a third place in that division while placing first in the left and 2nd in the right in the women's pro class.

Stew Foster, President of the club says he's very satisfied with his team's results.

"We had a fantastic performance in Lethbridge, we didn't have as many members of our club in attendance as we would have liked but we still did amazing."

According to Foster, many people are surprised with how arm wrestlers look.

"If you were to see what an average arm wrestler looked like, they are not these huge muscle bound guys jacked up on the juice. Arm wrestling is nothing more than physics and technique and skill involved."

The team's next meet will take place in May and Foster invites anyone interested in joining the club to contact them through Facebook.
