When the Western Hockey League playoffs got underway a few weeks back, there was a smattering of local players involved in the games.

Now, there is only one left.

Airdrie's Jake Neighbours and the Edmonton Oil Kings have made it to the Eastern Division Finals which start tonight (August 19) in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan against the Raiders.

Both teams have taken 10 playoff games to get to this point.  The Oil Kings had a six-game opening round series against the Medicine Hat Tigers before sweeping the Calgary Hitmen in four straight.

The Raiders started out the playoffs with a sweep of the Red Deer Rustlers before meeting Gary Haden of Airdrie and the Saskatoon Blades who they eliminated in six games.

Neighbours is having an excellent playoff in his first year in the WHL.  He's scored 3 goals and added 6 assists.  Two of the goals came in an overtime win over the Hitmen where Neighbours scored the tying goal late in the third before notching the overtime winner.

Game two of the series is also in PA tomorrow night.  The Western Conference final has Spokane Chiefs taking on the Vancouver Giants.
