Halliday says that this season has been a vast improvement from last year.

“Now that most of our freshmen class, which is the majority of our team, had one year under our belt this year, we definitely are rolling a lot better. We only had 3 wins last year but we’re up to 8 wins already this year so we’re definitely turning it around.”

The Greensboro College Pride wrap up their regular season this weekend and are in a tie for one of the playoff spots in the USA South Athletic Conference.

As fun as the year has been so far for Halliday, he does reflect on how tough it was to leave home and how his Lacrosse family helped him.

“I had to leave my family back home in Canada, in Airdrie. I got the chance to come here and it was easy, just the way the community was for our team and how welcoming the coaches were and what they do for us as a program, as kids.”

One of the biggest challenges that Halliday had when moving to the States, was the transition from box or indoor Lacrosse to Field Lacrosse. He says that growing up in the Silvertips program helped prepare him for this step.

“Junior, back home, definitely helped me realize what type of games I need to play with what type of players and see my size matchups.”

So far this season, Halliday has scored 10 goals and 13 assists.

Halliday and the Pride play their final regular season games this weekend when they face the Pfeiffer University Falcons and the Randolph College Wildcats.
