The second round of the Western Hockey League playoffs got underway last night (April 5) as the Saskatoon Blades and Airdrie's Gary Haden travelled to Prince Albert to play the Raiders.

Maybe the Blades should have just saved their gas.

Prince Albert scored a decisive 6 - 1 win to grab a 1 - 0 lead in the series.

Haden wasn't involved in Saskatoon's only goal.  The Blades will be looking for a more spirited performance when they play game two Sunday night in P.A.

Tonight the other local still involved in the post-season, Jake Neighbours of Airdrie will open up the second round series between his Edmonton Oil Kings and the Calgary Hitmen.

The Junior version of the Battle of Alberta gets underway at 7:00 pm in Edmonton.  Neighbours had four assists during Edmonton's first-round series, a six-game win over Medicine Hat.
