With the exception of the Vegas Golden Knights, the going is generally tough for most sports expansion teams.

The first year Knights surprised everyone by winning the NHL's Pacific Division this season, then blowing past Los Angeles in four straight in their first-round playoff series.

But take the Knights out of the mix and reality hits home.  It's not easy being an expansion team, something that the Tier Two Junior "B: Rockyview Rage are finding out early in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League season.

Yesterday (April 21) the Rage dropped their third straight to start the season, losing 12 - 8 to the Heat in High River.

There have been some bright spots for the young Rage.  Braeden Jewell was one of them yesterday, scoring twice and adding five assists for a seven-point afternoon, the best production on either team.

Nathan Lam scored four goals for the Rage while Ben Hadland and Colton Stevens added singles.

The Rage play their fourth straight road game on Friday when they visit Strathmore to take on the Venom.
