All four of Airdrie's Elite AA Men's Hockey teams were on the ice last weekend (February 9-11) and struggled to find wins in the South Central Alberta Hockey League.

The Peewee White Lightning were the busiest of the four teams with a home and away game back to back. In their first game on Saturday, the team was outplayed and outscored by the Bow Valley Timberwolves, losing 11-2. Carter McDermid and Ben Luterbach had the only goals for the Lightning in that game. Their next game against the Central Alberta Selects on Sunday was closer, but it still ended up in a defeat as the Lighting fell 7-4. Jayden Gallant had one goal and two assists in that game.

The Peewee Red Lightning had just one game last weekend as they suffered a 6-3 loss to the Okotoks Oilers Black. Matthew Metcalfe had one of those goals and also added an assist in that loss. Mitchell Patrick and Matthew Keller had the other goals for the Lightning.

The Bantam AA Lightning nearly had a big victory at home before the West Central Tigers came roaring back. Will Barrett had 2 goals to lead the Lightning to a 3-1 lead near the end of the second period. The Tigers would score three unanswered goals to close out the game with a 4-3 win over the Bantam Lightning.

Finally, the Midget Elite Lighting had one game on their schedule as they traveled to Cochrane to take on the Bow Valley Timberwolves. Ricky Doucette had one goal for the Lightning and Max Johnston made 36 saves in a close 3-1 loss to Bow Valley.

With the final few games of the SCAHL season approaching, the Bantam Lightning are the only local team in position for the playoffs as they sit third in the North Conference with 35 points. The Peewee Red, White and Midget Lightning sit at the bottom of their conferences.
