Two local players were in action last night (April 13th) in their respective series in the Western Hockey League Playoffs.

Balzac’s Zachary Cox is moving on to the Conference Finals after the Lethbridge Hurricanes beat the Brandon Wheat Kings 3-0 to eliminate the Kings in five games.

It was a different story for Airdrie’s Barrett Sheen and the Moose Jaw Warriors who were held pointless in a 2-0 loss to the Swift Current Broncos.

With that loss, the Warriors are down 3-2 in their best of seven series and will be eliminated with a loss in game six tonight.

The Warriors will look to win and force a game seven when they square off with the Broncos at 7:00 pm.
