Just over a week ago the Bert Church Chargers and Cochrane Cobras met to decide first place and who would be undefeated during the Rocky View High School Football League regular season.

In just under a week's time, the two will meet to decide the RVS championship.

On Saturday afternoon the Cobras punched their ticket to the game with a 29 - 0 shutout over a much improved W.H. Croxford team.  The Cavaliers held the high powered Cobras offense to a pair of touchdowns in each half.

On Friday it was much closer between the Chargers and the Springbank Phoenix with Bert Church scoring in the final minute to pull out a 17 - 16 win.

When the Chargers and Cobras met in the finale of the RVS regular season, Cochrane won 21 - 3.

The game goes on Saturday at 1:00 pm at Spray Lakes Sawmill Field in Cochrane.

Both teams remain in their respective positions in the latest version of the Alberta High School Football rankings.  Cochrane remains ranked number one among Tier Three teams while Bert Church is still ranked tenth among Tier Two schools.

Both the George McDougall Mustangs and the Cavaliers will play in the RVS 'B' Division semifinals next Friday.  Saturday the Mustangs outscored the Bow Valley Bobcats 40 - 21 and now have a date with the Phoenix in one semi-final.  That game is set for 4:15 pm in Springbank.

The Cavaliers will host the Chestermere Lakers Friday afternoon at 4:00 pm at Ed Eggerer Athletic Park.
