A massive announcement was made today for those that are fans of rodeo events and chuckwagon races.

 Century Downs Tracks and Casino have announced that the World professional chuckwagon association has confirmed that the two parties have entered into a multi-year agreement where Century Down will be the official host of the WPCA Finals.

The five-day championship event scheduled for August 21st to the 25th in 2019 will feature the worlds best chuckwagon drivers, outriders and horses competing for one of the richest prizes in the sport.

The finals will include new championship formats that will be announced in January 2019, The highlight will take place on championship Sunday with 100,000 dollars paid out. 

The WPCA is anticipating a significant economic benefit for the Rocky View Region. 

The Area may see a 3 million to 5 million dollar increase in economic benefits. 

Jason Glass, World Champion and Calgary Stampede Champion say he's looking forward to the new venue. 

"I think it's going to be great for the sport, anytime we can get closer to larger venues and bigger cities its going to bring out big crowds, the opportunity is endless. I'm excited to come here"
