The Airdrie CFR Bisons are now .500 at the Mac's Midget Hockey Tournament in Calgary following a loss at the hands of the New York Junior Islanders yesterday (December 27).

The Bisons played well but eventually lost to the Islanders 6 - 4.  The final New York goal came into an empty net.

That result, along with Airdrie's opening day win over the Thompson Blazers, leaves the Bisons with a 1 and 1 record, tied for second in Pool Five. The Islanders lead the division with three points thanks to a win and a tie.

Jake Petrie scored twice for the Bisons with singles coming from Jett Jones and Travis Bohnet.

The Bisons continue their schedule of four games in four days when they face the Saskatoon Contacts tonight at 8:00 pm in the Father David Bauer Arena.

In their first game of the tournament yesterday the Contacts demolished the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers, blanking them 7 - 0.
