The Airdrie CFR Bisons are returning to the Mac's Midget Hockey Tournament in Calgary.

Airdrie is one of 25 teams that will vie for the Mac's trophy from December 26th through January 1st.  The Bisons are in Pool 5 which includes the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers, New York Junior Islanders, Saskatoon Contacts and Thompson Blazers.

The Bisons begin tournament play with a game against the Blazers on Boxing Day at 12:15 pm at the Father David Bauer Arena.  They'll play the Islanders December 27th, the Contacts December 28th before wrapping up the round robin with a game against the Rangers on December 29th.

The Championship Final goes on New Year's Day at the Saddledome right after the game between the Calgary Hitmen and Victoria Royals.

In last year's Mac's tourney the Bisons finished with a 1 and 3 record but were in every game they played.

This year the tournament will be an all-male affair as not enough female teams applied to enter to have a female division.  No international teams will be at this year's Mac's.  Organizers suggest the high cost of travel as the reason.

The Bisons still have one game to play in the Alberta Midget Hockey League before they can start thinking about the tournament, and that game goes tonight.

The Bisons travel to Okotoks to face the Oilers.  Okotoks is just three points in back of the Bisons who hold down sixth place in the Chrysler Division of the AMHL.
