Both area players, and their teams, that were involved in games yesterday (March 30) in the Western Hockey League playoffs fell a little short in their efforts, and it cost one of them their season.  

Yesterday in Lethbridge, the Hurricanes with Zachary Cox of Balzac in the lineup, lost their third straight game to the Calgary Hitmen, falling 6 - 5.  

The win gives the Hitmen a 3 - 2 lead in the series heading back to Calgary for game six at 4:00 pm this afternoon.  Another win will give the Hitmen a series upset.

Cox has just one assist in the series.

The Everett Silvertips have advanced to the second round following a 9 - 1 drubbing of the Tri-City Americans and Cochrane's Connor Bouchard.  The Silvertips win the best of seven in five games and now will face the Spokane Chiefs in the next series.

Bouchard also had one assist in the playoffs 

Jake Neighbours and the Edmonton Oil Kings will make their way to Medicine Hat this afternoon, looking to wrap up their series with the Tigers,  The Oil Kings hold a 3 - 2 edge in the series.  Game time is 4:00 pm.
