Airdrie's Elite Women's hockey team had a big game last Saturday (November 11th) as they took down one of their biggest division rivals in the Alberta Female Hockey League.

Robyn Grant scored the game winner while Emma Dixon added the insurance goal to give the Airdrie Lightning a 4-2 win over the Calgary Fire Red.

Jenica Wilkie and Madison Black scored the other goals for the Lightning, while Cianna Weir made 36 saves in the victory.

With the win, the Lightning move into a tie with the Fire for first place in the Southern Division with 12 points.

The Lightning will look to improve on that record when they take on the Lethbridge Cyclones on November 18th.
