The Airdrie Thunder will be hitting the ice on friday for the final series of the HJHL playoffs.

The Thunder just came off a win against the Mountain View Colts and will take on arguable the second best team in the HJHL the Coaldale Copperheads.

Airdrie Thunder Head Coach Derek Stamp says his team is ready for Coaldale and they are expecting a serious challenge.

"It will be a different type of series against Coaldale compared to Mountainview. I think that it will probably play a little more in line with the type of hockey we played all season long  but Coaldale is definitly a really good hockey team so right now we are going to spend a week practising and making sure our structure in all three zones is where it needs to be."

During the majority of the playoffs the Thunder were able to have a week break as the series they played tended to end early.

"We know everybody is healthy and rested and we are looking at this week off as a advantage."

The first game of the series takes place Friday night at 8:00 at the Ron Ebbeson Areana.

The Thunder finished their regular season with a record of 35-3.
