The best swimmers in the province competed for the title "Provincial Champions" at the 2019 Swim AB Spring Championship meet held in Edmonton and some members of the Nose Creek Swim Association from Airdrie were able to add that title to their list of accomplishments.

Sean Penner brought home three Provincial Championships by winning the 50m and 100 m freestyle and the 50m butterfly for 14 and 15-year-old boys.  Penner just edged out the second place finishers by 0.01 seconds to claim the 50 m race.

Airdrie's Nathan Wong is also a Provincial Champion after claiming victory in the 50m backstroke in the boy's 13 and under category.  Wong also qualified for both the Western Canadian Championships and punched his ticket for this summer's Canadian Junior Championships

Alex Sharpe continues to show he's Canada's next generation hopeful in para-swimming, capturing bronze medals in the 50m and 100m freestyle and 100m backstroke.

Other NCSA swimmers turned in personal best times, including Adam Fodorko, and Daniel Froese.  Other Airdrie swimmers at the meet who turned in outstanding results included Michael Schaan, Hailey Hughes, and Catilin Merchant,

NCSA finished this year's edition of the Provincial Championships on a stronger note than in previous years.  The girl's team scored 69.5 points to finish 11th overall.  The boy's team had a tremendous meet with 174 points, good for 8th overall.

Assistant Head Coach Alexx Diep said the entire coaching staff was very pleased and proud of the team and its results.   NCSA displayed great team spirit and much-improved results from previous years.
