350 athletes representing 24 teams from across Alberta will converge on Edmonton tomorrow to take part in a very special floor hockey tournament and one of those teams will be from right here in Airdrie.

The teams are taking part in the Joey Moss Floor Hockey Invitational.  The tourney is named after the well known, almost famous, locker room attendant for the Edmonton Oilers and longtime friend of Oilers great Wayne Gretzky.

The Airdrie players will join others from Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, High River, Okotoks, Red Deer, Rocky View, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, St. Albert, Strathcona, Vegreville and Wetaskiwin for the tournament.

The tourney will also serve to division teams for the 2019 Special Olympics Alberta Winter Games scheduled for February 8th through 10th in Calgary.

Along with playing their counterparts, the Special Olympians will get a chance to square off against the Edmonton Oilers Alumni team at 12:30 pm tomorrow.
