Football Alberta will hold a pair of selection camps at McMahon Stadium in Calgary this weekend and six Airdrie players are hoping to stand out and make the final rosters for two prestigious teams.  

The South Senior Bowl is an all-star game for graduating grade 12's being held for the 30th year.  The camp features 130 of the top players in southern Alberta trying to earn a spot on the South Team that will take on the Northern all-stars at the Senior Bowl on the May long weekend in Calgary.

Five Airdrie players are among those taking part in that camp.  Receivers Jamal Bacchus and Nolan Phillips and defensive back Keegan Proudfoot are all representing the W.H. Croxford Cavaliers.

The other two are Rhett Mitschke, a receiver with the George McDougall Mustangs and A.J. Parker, a defensive lineman with the Bert Church Chargers.

The other camp is the U18/U17 Selection Camp that sees the final 130 players born in 2002 and 2003 who made it out of the SUPERWEEKEND in January, vie for a spot on Team Alberta U18 that will take part in the Football Canada Cup in Kingston, Ontario this July,

As well, the next best players born in 2003 at the camp will be selected to Team Alberta U17 that will attend the Pacific Challenge in Maui, Hawaii this August.

Receiver Tristan Remus-Arevalo, a 2003 born player with the Bert Church Chargers is among the 130 trying out at the selection camp. 

The final selections will be made on Sunday.
