Why should you let a hockey game get in the way of remembering and honouring Canada's war heroes?

That's what the Airdrie Midget T1 Lightning and the Rocky Mountain House Royals were thinking on Sunday (November 11) at the Rocky Mountain House tournament.

The Lightning and Royals were in the midst of the third period of their game as the clock was about to strike 11:00 am.  Before it did, the two teams ceased play and joined together at precisely 11:00 am to observe two minutes of silence in honour of Canada's veterans.

John Winslow, the Manage of the Lightning says the tribute was arranged by the organizers of the Rocky Mountain House tournament and was a wonderful display of respect and sportsmanship.

The Lightning went on to win the tournament 'A' Final later that day when they downed the CNN Spurs 7 - 4.
