The journey continued for Airdrie's Elite-AA teams last weekend (October 7th-October 8th).

Unfortunately, neither the Peewee, Bantam or Midget teams could register a league win, but there were still some bright spots.

The Peewee Red Lightning had two tough games on Saturday and Sunday, losing 9-2 to the Bow Valley Timberwolves and 5-1 to the Okotoks Oilers Green.

Their counterparts from the Peewee White team also suffered a tough loss to Okotoks, losing 8-4.

Despite the loss, Carter McDermid had an impressive game contributing one goal and one assist.

The Bantam Lightning came close to picking up a win on the weekend but eventually tied their game with the Lethbridge Hurricanes. The Lightning were ahead 2-0 before Lethbridge came back to take a 3-2 lead. Thankfully, Airdrie avoided the loss when Erik Thoreson scored the equalizer, securing the 3-3 tie.

Joey Haden had two assists in the game, including a helper on the game tying goal from Thoreson.

Finally, the Midget-AA Lightning dropped both their weekend games by a score of 5-2, against the Bow Valley Timberwolves and Wheatland Chiefs.

Airdrie Bisons affiliate player Ben Nemish had a strong weekend, scoring 2 goals and 1 assist in both games.

All the Airdrie Lightning teams will look to redeem themselves when they resume action in the South Central Alberta Hockey League starting this Friday (October 13th).
