Thomas Hulsman came oh so close to claiming a medal yesterday (February 19) at the 2019 Canada Winter Games that are going on in Red Deer.

The 19-year-old Airdrie athlete is competing in biathlon at the games and was involved in the men's 10K Pursuit race yesterday.  

Hulsman placed fourth behind two athletes from B.C. who won the gold and bronze and another from Quebec who picked up the silver.  Hulsman's time of 29:26.9 was less than 27 seconds out of the bronze medal position.  

Earlier in the games, Hulsman came 16th in the 7.5K Sprint.
